Greetings:

XP started giving "hardware/software change" screen on unsucessful startup,
for no apparent reason.

Any suggestions?

John

1- What version of Windows XP do you have (include the service pack.)

2- What is the complete and exact text of the message you are seeing?

3- Any clues as to what may be causing the problem? The more detail you
provide, the more likely you are to receive the correct answer in this
newsgroup. Otherwise, you're hoping for a lucky guess.

Probably, but you'll have to wait until I get my crystal ball back
from the jeweler (it needs a good polishing).

Without it, I can't know anything about your system or about the
exact message you are getting.
