Post subject: other usb devices are not affected
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>hardware (more info?)

The cursor is still there, the mouse has power
(all the lights are still on and my dpi meter still functions). My
keyboard
and all other usb devices are not affected. If I unplug the mouse and
try to
plug it back in, then all of my usb ports go dead. Only restarting
Windows
restores them. I've checked Device Manager, everything looks to be
working
properly. My drivers are up to date, even my motherboard bios is
current. I
don't think it's the mouse either, I bought it to replace a Logitech G5
that
did the exact same thing. I am dual booting between XP pro and Vista if
that
makes a difference.
