Post subject: update fails -Windows XP
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>perform_maintain (more info?)

i was givin a Windows XP Service Pack 3 Disk from my friend at the computer
store its not and original its a copy and when i went to update my computer
with it half way through at the end of a loading bar it gives me an error
saying (setup cannot set the required Windows XP configeration infomation.
This indicates an internal error. Contact your system andmin) i'm not to sure
what to do or what my opptions even are but any help or info would be great

ok kinda figure that out on my own but i would really like to know how to
"fix it" not what to do next time...i can't get it to work at all and i've
even tried reinstalling my original copy of XP and it just tells me to put
the Service pack 3 disk back in.

i could really use some help here not comments thanks
