MS Windows Virtual PC, VMware Workstation, VMware Player, VirtualBox,
etc... All the same concept done by different entities. Allowing you to
run a virtual machine on top of your current operating system.
If you are considering 'jumping into the unknown' - now is the best time to
introduce you to how to utilize Google.
Search using Google!

Yo may think you know how to use it - but you asked a question just now that
implies that maybe you do not. You had the key words, all you had to do was
search. However - it is necessary that you use the proper keywords.
You asked, "What is virtual box?" and I had said prior, "I suggest
VirtualBox." --> it is a subtle difference, but can make a large impact on
your search results (doubt it would here - but...) (VirtualBox - one
continuous bunch of letters, no space.)
What is VirtualBox

Where you could download it, read up on it, etc.
