malfunction since service pack 3 was installed

I recently downloaded and installed service pack 3. Immediately following, my
computer connected analog headset stopped working. I cannot get mic to work.
I use Skype and can hear caller but they cannot hear me. Is there a fix or
must I uninstall SP3?

Update your hardware drivers, in particular the Motherboard Chipset and
Audio Device drivers. Then uninstall, reboot and install the latest version
of Skype.
