Post subject: UN-install the Microsoft Port Reporter service ?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>perform_maintain (more info?)

Hi Everyone,

Today I downloaded and installed the Microsoft Port Reporter service ,
from this web-site : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/837243#appliesto .
After , installing the new service , I decided it duplicates a
Sysinternals Utilities that I have called TcpView . So I decided to
UN-install the Port Reporter service.
I followed the web-sites instructions :

" To remove the Port Reporter service, type the following line at the
command prompt, and then press ENTER:
pr-setup.exe -u " .

But I received a error message from command prompt , saying that it didn't
recognize the command of pr-setup.exe -u .
So if anyone could give me any directions on how to UN-install the Port
Reporter
service , it would be appreciated .
Thanks.

Larry,

When you have opened your command prompt, you need to change directory
to the folder where the program is installed before running that
uninstall command.

e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>cd C:\Program Files
\MicrosoftTCPPortViewer
