This shouldn't be all that complex, I've done this sort of thing before in
Excel, but I can't get this to work.
The LM19 is a temperature sensor that outputs a voltage. I wish to use a
few with my Hobo data loggers, which record voltage (milivolts) and then
downloads to an excel file. I need the formula to copy to the adjoining
cells to convert that value to temperature. I guess I am not suppose to
send a graphis here, but this is the link to the IC datasheet:
http://www.national.com/ds/LM/LM19.pdf
The formula for voltage to temperature conversion is on the first page. I
have tried unsuccessfully to convert this to a cell formula, and have even
tried a calculator , step by step to find my errors, but to no avail. Any
help with this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks

Here is how I would try it:
=-1481.96+SQRT(2196200+(1.8639-A1)/0.00000388))
Where A1 has the input voltage V0 >> Stay informed about: Need help entering cell formula |

Jim,
Remeber to convert mV to V, so your readings from the chart would look like:
mV V T
303 0.303 130.02
675 0.675 100.00
919 0.919 80.00
1515 1.515 30.03
1574 1.574 24.99
1863.9 1.8639 -0.00
2205 2.205 -29.96
2318 2.318 -40.02
2485 2.485 -55.03
Hope this helps.
