I have access 2007 sp1, vista service pack 1.
I take a report in design mode, go to page setup, ask to print on a specific
printer, change custom paper size and save the report.
I take the same report in design mode, go to page setup-> My changes have
not been saved.
The only way I have to save the printer settings in the report is to modify
the report using a previous access version.
Does someone know when this bug will be corrected?

This article says the problem should be corrected by patches dated March
31th, 2008.
However, I had the problem last week on a new computer where all windows and
office service packs and updates were applied and installed on December
20th, 2008 (access 2007 sp1 French, win vista sp1 French). And the problem
is NOT YET corrected by office updates / service packs .

Might try a support call to MS as it works in my English version. Maybe
they have another hotfix.

I will not take the risk to have to pay for a support call for a bug that
has been reported more than 1 year ago.
I told them about this problem 2 months after Access 2007 was available,
there was no patch available, and they refused to exchange the version 2007
of my customer with a previous version.
And this problem is not solved for this customer as he doesn't have
internet.

Microsoft doesn't charge support for customers asking for hotfixes or the
availability of hotfixes in foreign language versions.
I don't know if this hotfix is available for French versions or if it's been
put on cds, but Microsoft ships cds if the customer pays shipping & handling.
Since you have internet access, you could download the hotfix (if it's
available in French), burn it to cd and give it to your customer. That's 2
ways to get the hotfix if it's available in French.
Microsoft doesn't exchange software for previous versions, but often allows
downgrade rights. Check the EULA. For product exchanges you have to take
that up with the vendor you bought it from. Vendors don't usually exchange
software for a different software product if the package is opened.

In this particular case customer bought a new OEM version of ms office 2007
pro.
MS support said to me: we would exchange it if customer has bought "boxed"
version, but we don't exchange OEM versions. Hot fix was not available at
that time.
Customer would perhaps be allowed to use a previous version, but he didn't
have any previous version.
Of course, Customer will not pay for a previous version (even media) just
after buying a brand new one.
And of course, Customer didn't own any previous version, otherwise he would
never have upgraded: previous versions are faster and lighter, and customer
only use an existing application and is not able to "use" access. This
application is still developed with a2K3, we didn't find any good reason to
force users to upgrade to a2K7 yet.

Microsoft provides OEM software to hardware vendors at a greatly reduced cost
from retail with the understanding that the vendor supports the software, not
Microsoft. Tech support is priced into the retail price, not OEM prices.
That's why OEM is cheaper.
If the vendor isn't willing to exchange it, you're SOL.

In this particular case, vendor is Dell. Good luck to get another version
for free.

Phone call is cheap you may be suprised. Currently I rate, for the money,
Dell as top customer support and HP coming up fast. Not an ad, just
experience. Call and don't take the first answer if it isn't right. Sorry,
I'm being verbal but things change. With todays economics they know what it
takes to stay in the biz. Try to be just a little bit positive, you've
flamed me enough! Try fllaming them if you don't get the right response the
first tiime.

My customer downloaded this patch, got error messages when launching (error
# 40).
Patch said finally "install ok".
But problem is still unchanged: opening a report in design mode, changing
custom printer / papersize, saving report then reopen it: custom page setup
has not been changed!
