That is not very much information to go on, Al!

Assuming you mean you are trying to perform a clean install, why don't
you try again, using this page as a guide:

http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

You will need to configure your BIOS so that the PC boots off the CD-ROM
drive. You will also need to have all your hardware drivers and
application installation media handy. Make sure that the only devices
connected to your PC are the mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

If you have any problems, let us know at which step (using the guide
above) they occur.

Out of curiosity, why are you reinstalling XP? This is rarely necessary;
there are usually better and quicker solutions to most problems PC users
experience. Perhaps you might want to explore fixing the problem
instead.

First of all, why? It is very rarely a good thing to do.

Exactly how are you trying to reinstall it? Do you have an
installation CD? If so, are you booting from it (the right way to do
it), or trying to reinstall from within Windows (the wrong way to do
it)?

Is the computer's hardware non-defective and capable of supporting WinXP?
