Wireless card connects locally, but not to net

You should go to the Command Prompt and enter IPconfig /all on both
machines. You might find that the machine that cannot access the
Internet is not using a valid IP like the machine that has a good
connection.

If the IP starts with 169, then that's a default IP that is assigned to
the NIC by the O/S indicating that there is some kind of trouble, and
the machine timed out trying to get an IP from the DHCP server on the
LAN. It's a sign of a misconfiguration or defectiveness issues on the
NIC or on the router, if the router is the DHCP server on the LAN.

If it's the 169 IP for the NIC, then that IP can share resources with
other machines on the LAN, but the IP will not let the machine access
the Internet, since it's not using a valid IP on the router.

The IP could be zero and the machine has no connection to the router,
but in either case of the IP being used by the machine and even though
there 100% signal strength between the wireless NIC and WAP, there is no
valid IP being used and no valid connection to the Internet.
