The previous post pointed me in the right direction in correcting the above
referenced error, but I cannot get past the chkdsk. It shows no errors, but
says it doesn't recognize my XP disc as a valid disc.

Any thoughts on where to go next?

To get help we need to know:

1- What version of Windows you gave (including the service pack.)

2- A detailed description of your problem.

3- Any clues you have about what might have caused the problem (e.g.,
recent modifications to software or hardware.)

What was the last thing you did? Do you dual-boot your computer?

If you do dual-boot, post back and give the complete version of Windows
XP you are using?
