Post subject: Webcam shows pitch black picture.

I have a Sony Vaio Laptop. (VGN-AR350E)
My camera works fine offline.
Takes pictures.
Records video.


But for some reason whenever I use either Yahoo or MSN Messenger to
broadcast the webcam the picture comes out pitch black.

I have tried reinstalling the needed drivers to fix this issue and went
as far as doing a System Recovery and still I have this problem.

So if anyone has had similar problems or have a few suggestions, please
reply to this. Thanks!

Both IM programs have video setup options. It might be as simple as the
brightness/gamma settings are set very low.
