Post subject: W2003 automatically Roman numerals each line?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>word>docmanagement (more info?)

there a file that when I open W2003 automatically puts Roman numerals on
every line; others open same file no problem; I open other files no problem;

Line numbering (as opposed to paragraph numbering) is controlled in
the Page Setup panel, which you'll find under the File menu. Go to the
Layout tab, and it's a button near the bottom.

Does selecting the text and pressing Ctrl+Q help? If not, then the Normal
style has been modified to add numbering, and you will need to modify it to
remove the numbering. See

automatically suppress Space Before after a column break (.. - After a Continuous section break, I have created 2 columns. Styles have Space Before and/or After. When I force a column with a column break, the second column is keeping the Space Before. Please note I have already selected the compatibility option..
