Hi,

My PC has become stuck in a cycle of downloading a recent IE7 Security
Update. It installed successfully a couple of months ago but still gets
downloaded and attempts to install every time I reboot. Anyone got any
suggestions to break this cycle?

Thanks

Try to unistall the update in question first. Control Panel > Programs >
View installed updates > Uninstall.

Download it from Microsoft Download Center, and install it manually. You
should search for it by KB number.

The trouble is that the update isn't listed on the list of installed
updates - I have a feeling that this might be part of the problem. It's
preventing other IE7 updates installing as well.

I figured the only solution maybe restoring back to a point prior to when it
installed and retrying the installation manually as suggested above. Any
thoughts?
