Archived from groups: microsoft>public>excel (more info?)

I am attempting to print a spreadsheet of accounts on which I have used a
dotted line (Rt-click / Format Cells/ Borders / Line) so that the accountant
can easily follow the lines of income and expenditure.

They all show up fine on the Print Preview screen but when I print them out
none of the dotted lines appear. The ordinary borders print fine.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Noel

Sometime printer have trouble with narrow lines when they are in draft mode
Try setting the printer to better quality (you can do this with the
Properties button next to printer name on the Print dialog. Tell us the
result.
best wishes

Thank you for your suggestion.

I have checked and I am not set to 'draft' but to '600 dpi' which is the
highest my laser printer gives.

I also tried turning on the 'gridlines' but it doesn't seem to make any
difference.

The strange thing is that last year I was using Excel 2003 and I didn't have
any problems printing.

Cheers,

Noel

Later:

I have just tried sending the document to a deskjet printer and everything
prints OK.

I guess it must be something to do with the laser printer.

Thanks for your help.
