The Nokia N80 phone has worked successfully with a Bluetooth connection for
most of the time since I started using the Windows Vista computer 9 months
ago.
The phone is still working but a few days ago I started getting the
following message whenever I restarted the computer (Dell laptop Inspiron
1720).
"Found New Hardware
Windows needs to install driver software for your Bluetooth Peripheral Device
(Choices)
1. Locate and install driver software (recommended) - Windows will guide you
....
2. Ask me again later - Windows will ask again the next time you plug in
your device or log on.
3. Don't show this message again for this device - Your device will not
function until you install driver software."
Locate and install driver software got me nowhere as the Nokia software
seemed to be the latest. (I had eliminated the Bluetooth mouse as the source
of the error message.)
The phone seems to still be communicating with the computer without problems
using Bluetooth (despite the Windows warning that the device will not
function). The error message window is the only symptom of the problem.
The only recent updates made to this computer in recent days (that I am
aware of):
1. Just before (or perhaps after this error message) I downloaded the new
version of Nokia Software Updater v1.4.56en and used it to download Nokia PC
Suite version 7.0.8.2.
2. Skype was installed recently (version 3.
3. Dell Support Centre Update 2.2.08100
4. Mozilla Firefox was updated to v3.0.3 (en-US)
5. Nokia Flashing Cable Driver 8.23.0.0
Any suggestions?
