To clarify, WHERE on the new computer are you trying to copy files in?
On my Gateway laptop, Vista64, I could copy a couple of .bat files
into the C:\ directory just fine. When I tried to edit them to my
satisfaction Vista wouldn't let me save the edited version. I am an
user-administrator. I attempted to give myself 'full control' of this
directory - and it seemed happy to oblige. BUT it still wouldn't save
my edited bat files into C:\. Finally it offered to save to my user
space. (I'm typing on XP right now so can't give the path and
directory) and it saved it there just fine. Later, when I tried to
open/edit these same bat files, which I'd moved to my user-space, they
wouldn't save, go figure. Something hinky here dunno what. Anyway,
WHERE are you attempting to copy?
