I have an early 2007 copy (pre-SP1) Ultimate Upgrade DVD which I never used
to upgrade my XP, with all the negative feedback going around at that time.
Could have returned the copy, since it was still sealed, but did not.

I just got a new machine with Vista Business fully up-to-date with SP1 and
the patches. But with Business, no Media Center and no Solitaire. Can I
upgrade my version to Ultimate with the old DVD? Or, will there be technical
problems with this idea?

Any advice will be appreciated.

You will have a problem as it is not SP1.
It will tell you it is an earlier version, so can not do.
Try to exchange it.

You could try doing a clean install, with the Upgrade disk.
Make sure you get the Motherboard Drivers from the Manufacturer's site 1st.
Ethernet connection, sound, etc.

You can't use a pre-SP1 disc to upgrade an SP1 system, they must both be at
the same SP level. If you can uninstall SP1 from the newer machine you
should be able to upgrade just fine, otherwise not.
