Hi

I only use Abobe for its reader however it keeps trying to update. I'm
quite happy with whatever version I have, so how do I stop Adobe Updater
from running.

You might want to give Foxit a try. Less than 4MB as opposed to Adobe's
20+MB.

Go to Help > Check for updates ... Let it do its thing, then click the
"Preferences" button and deselect "Automatically check for Adobe updates".

Found on http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ee6b2e6/ -- the correct place to
ask questions about Adobe Reader.

Thanks for both the suggestion & the link. The only place I could find a
ticked update box was in application setup so I've unticked it there. I
wasn't actually starting Adobe reader when the update message flashed up so
wonder if its scheduled somewhere and if it happens again I'll consult the
adobeforum
